  • Overview

Optometrists and general ophthalmologists field a significant number of geographic atrophy (GA) patients. To ensure patients are promptly referred to retina specialists, Dr. Steinle will highlight the risk factors that drive this disease, imaging modalities that are best suited for GA evaluation, the type of lesion patterns that place patients at high risk for progression, and potential treatments.

This activity is supported by an unrestricted medical educational grant from Apellis Pharmaceuticals.

    • Comprehend and explain the pathogenesis of GA
    • Describe GA disease detection and factors influencing progression
    • Appraise the therapies targeting GA that have been explored as well as those in the pipeline
