Overview
This live virtual meeting, hosted by Ehsan Rahimi, MD, will focus on the importance of collaborative care, the additional care that must be addressed when undergoing ocular surgery, the benefits of diabetic eye exams, and early treatment of retinal disease. This independent educational activity is supported by an unrestricted educational grant from Genentech, a member of the Roche Group. Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: - Describe the increasing prevalence of diabetes and diabetic retinopathy.
- Identify and implement screening guidelines for patients based on their risk factors.
- Explain to patients the need for early referral to a retina specialist.
- Understand advances in imaging and how these allow for earlier diagnosis of disease or disease progression.
- Identify the novel therapies under investigation.
Participation Method
In order to obtain credit, proceed through the program, complete the post-test, evaluation and submit for credit.
