    This live virtual symposium will cover timely issues about race and socioeconomics and how they affect patient care. The faculty will discuss access to care, disease awareness among patients with the highest risk factors, and treatment noncompliance, among other topics. The experts in retinal disease will also share their experience with these issues and potential solutions through case studies and discussions with audience members.

  • Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

    • Discuss how ethnicity and socioeconomics impacts patient awareness of the ocular complications of diabetes
    • Explain the efficacy of current treatment options in specific populations
    • Develop individualized plans for patients with diabetic eye disease who may be at higher risk for progression due to nonadherence
    • Apply case study examples to clinical settings
