    This 90-minute virtual activity will focus on understanding the best practices for using biosimilars when managing inflammatory conditions. Topics of discussion will be an overview of biologics and biosimilars, the biosimilar pathway, and strategies for integrating biosimilars into patient care.

    This certified CE/CME activity is designed for gastroenterologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physician assistants, primary care physicians, and rheumatologists involved in the care of patients with inflammatory conditions that can be treated with biosimilars.

     

    This activity is supported by an independent medical education grant from Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

     

  • Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

    • Define key elements of biosimilarity, including the distinction between biosimilars and generic drugs
    • Describe the clinical development process and approval pathway for biosimilars
    • Evaluate the benefits as well as the risks/drawbacks of integrating biosimilars into evidence-based patient treatment plans
