PSPS Advanced Practice Provider Series: Addressing Bias--From Recognition to Action

ReachMD Healthcare Image
Details
  • Overview

Research has shown that implicit bias is pervasive among health care professionals and may contribute to health disparities, decrease diversity, and result in a negative workplace environment. However, formal medical education and training curricula that provide a framework for identifying and mitigating implicit bias are often lacking. Helping clinicians understand that unconscious biases exist and providing strategies and techniques to address them may help reduce the likelihood that such biases will impact decisions and negatively affect the communities they serve.

This certified CME activity will unite pain practitioners and advanced practice providers from the Pacific States (California, Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Alaska). Our goal is to demonstrate best practices to improve the quality of care and treatment outcomes for chronic pain patients.
