    Rebecca T. Hahn, MD, FACC, FESC, hosts this webinar detailing the risk factors for prosthesis-patient mismatch (PPM) and reviews the best approach for each patient. Dr. Hahn also reviews in-depth the differences in outcomes, particularly in terms of mortality, between PPM after transcatheter aortic valve replacement versus surgical aortic valve replacement, and shares her clinical insight related to the optimal techniques for accurately assessing the incidence and severity of PPM. At the conclusion of her presentation, there will be a live question and answer session with Dr. Hahn.Supported by an independent educational grant from Edwards Lifesciences.

    At the completion of this educational activity, you will be better able to:
    • Explain the risk factors for prosthesis-patient mismatch (PPM) and apply the best approach for each patient
    •  Describe optimal techniques to accurately assess the incidence and severity of PPM
    •  Compare the differences in outcomes, particularly in terms of mortality, between PPM after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) vs surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR)
    •  Categorize the role of each type of valve in various patient subsets
    •  Compare findings from randomized trials versus nonrandomized trials and assess what each type of data reveals about mortality outcomes
