    Although telemedicine is not new to ophthalmology, the 2020 coronavirus pandemic has heightened the need for options that keep patients and eye care providers safe. Eye care providers need to be educated on the changing regulations related to office visits and billing, the enhanced safety measures required, and the ocular conditions best suited for telemedicine.

  • Learning Objectives

    This initiative is designed to address and resolve the educational needs through the following educational objectives:
    • Formulate a plan to implement telemedicine into an eye care practice.
    • Describe how telemedicine can provide care for patients who cannot be seen in the office, whether due to a pandemic or physical limitations of patient.
    • Summarize how to bill and code for telemedicine services.
