    In this Master Class, Dr. Brandon Ayres, MD, discusses keratoconus and how it affects cataract surgery. By the end of this class, you will understand how to identify keratoconus in cataract patients, as well as how to manage the disease before and after cataract surgery. You will also learn how to effectively communicate with patients to educate them about the condition.

  • Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

    • Define the etiology and prevalence of three most common/impactful complex cornea patient categories that will be featured in this program
    • Describe specific steps and protocols for identifying complex cornea patients, including subjective and objective diagnostics, and how to interpret this information
    • Design an IOL power calculation strategy for complex cornea cases
    • Design treatment plans for the various grades of complex corneas in real-world cases and review conventional and ideal treatment options for these patients
