    In this course, Drs. Eric Donnenfeld and Cathleen McCabe discuss refractive lens exchange for today’s patients with presbyopia. Upon conclusion of this video, you will understand who makes the best candidate for a refractive lens exchange and when it should be performed.

    Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

    • Identify the definition, prevalence, and etiology of presbyopia and key characteristics of patients who are candidates for refractive lens exchange
    • Describe how the latest presbyopia-correcting IOL technologies and pharmaceutical presbyopia treatments can create new groups of satisfied refractive lens exchange patients
    • Outline strategies for finding, communicating with, and educating patients about refractive lens exchange clinical outcomes, costs, risks, and benefits, including quality of life and quality of vision considerations
