    In this MasterClass, Dr. Elizabeth Yeu explains how to look for and manage dry eye disease (DED) in pre-surgical patients, such as pre-laser vision correction and cataract surgery patients. By the end of this course, you will learn what exam techniques to identify OSD and DED patients, how to counsel patients, and what timing can look like for the acute treatment for rapid rehabilitation and the respective surgeries.

  • Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

    • Review the prevalence and patient satisfaction impact of dry eye flares in high volume anterior segment surgery/co-management practices
    • Discuss the keys for diagnosing signs and symptoms associated with episodic flares of OSD in a high volume setting
    • Review case experiences for making therapeutic decisions for patients with variable grades of acute exacerbations of dry eye disease
    • Discuss the short and long term outcomes and follow-up regimen for dry eye flare patients
