This discussion will provide optometrists with a comprehensive 30-minute education program on how to improve patient outcomes by diagnosing and managing corneal disorders in today’s optometric practice. The course will focus on patient identification and the latest research results related to comanaging patients with keratoconus, including corneal crosslinking. Program content will include a set of evidence-based didactic presentations, interactive panel discussions, and relevant case presentation discussions.

After completing this educational activity, participants should be better able to: - Describe current and emerging therapies and techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of degenerative and dystrophic corneal diseases
- Describe the latest findings and patient selection in corneal crosslinking:
- Appropriate patients for crosslinking
- Increase confidence in reading and documenting pathology using tomography and topography
- Identification of Keratoconus earlier in the progression of the disease
- Review approaches to establishing patient expectations around disease progression and treatment options
- Describe patient selection criteria and when to refer to an Ophthalmologist for crosslinking
- Innovations in riboflavin formulations and light delivery
- Increased efficacy of crosslinking
- Epi-on vs. epi-off
