    In this class, Drs. Justin Schweitzer and C. Jade Coats discuss integrating presbyopia-correction options, specifically presbyopia eye drops, into the optometric practice. By the end of this video, you will learn about educating patients, incorporating strategies to drive patients to your practice, and collaborating with other optometrists and ophthalmologists in your area.

  • Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

    • Define the prevalence and etiology of presbyopia and key characteristics of presbyopia progression from early to late-stage patients
    • Outline strategies for finding, communicating with, and educating patients about presbyopia-correction clinical outcomes, costs, risks, and benefits, including quality-of-life and quality-of-vision considerations
    • Describe how the latest presbyopia-correcting IOL technologies, multifocal contact lenses, and pharmaceutical presbyopia treatments can address outcomes in a new group of presbyopia patients, including those with comorbid conditions
