    CONTENT SOURCE This continuing medical education (CME) activity captures content from a roundtable discussion. ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION Newer classes of drugs are being evaluated to treat age-related macular degeneration (AMD), along with longer duration of currently approved drugs. This supplement reviews the expanding therapeutic innovations and improved diagnostic technologies. TARGET AUDIENCE This certified CME activity is designed for ophthalmologists and retina specialists involved in the treatment and management of patients with retinal disorders. This activity is supported by an independent medical education grant from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.
  • Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

    • Identify the current and potential future treatment options available for the management of two common retinal diseases (neovascular AMD, diabetic eye disease).
    • Summarize the barriers preventing patients from achieving vision outcomes similar to those reported in clinical studies in clinical practice.
    • Develop individualized patient treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes for patients with current and future treatments.
