Overview
In this video case discussion, Program Chair Christina Y. Weng, MD, MBA, and Basil K. Williams Jr, MD, review details of a patient with wet age-related macular degeneration treated during the COVID-19 pandemic. This case highlights the need for increased durability of treatment options.
Drs. Weng and Williams also discuss the latest data on two investigational anti-VEGFs: an antibody biopolymer conjugate and a pan-VEGF plus placental growth factor inhibitor.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Describe the pros and cons of current therapy options for diabetic eye disease and wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
- Articulate the challenges facing retina specialists related to the complexities of managing patients with diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema, and wet AMD.
- Assess pipeline candidates under investigation for these patient populations.
