    ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION The following program brings together thought leaders in university-based and private-practice settings to discuss this landscape and consider ways for improvement. Panelists discuss best practices in screening and imaging, the timing of follow-up exams, and how recent data can inform management strategies and current treatments.This activity is supported by an independent medical education grant from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
  • Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
    • Discuss the increasing prevalence of diabetes and diabetic retinopathy (DR).
    • Discuss the clinical findings and classification of diabetic retinopathy using existing scales.
    • Determine the effect of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor treatment on the progression of diabetic retinopathy.
    • Evaluate the use of advanced imaging technologies to confirm diagnosis/treatment regimens for those with nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy.
